Log a session in under a minute.

Two minutes in the parking lot beats trying to remember tomorrow. Every field is pre-filled from your last class, so a session is three taps and Save. It becomes mat hours, streaks, a submission ledger and your belt timeline. No account. No feed.

Your whole journey, white to black.

Belts and stripes drawn to the time you held them, from your first class onward. The belt screen is the trophy room, and the whole app is dyed in your current rank.

05 / FAQ

Questions.

Is BJJ Journal free?

The monthly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and there is a one-time lifetime purchase as well. The prices for your region are shown in the App Store. Every feature is included either way; the trial is the full app, nothing is locked.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no login, no email, no password. Open the app, pick your belt, log a session.

Where is my training data stored?

On your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud, it also syncs through your own private iCloud so a new phone picks it up. The developer never receives it and has no server that could.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Settings exports everything as JSON or CSV at any time. Deleting the app removes the copy on your iPhone; if iCloud sync was on, remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings.

Does it work offline?

Entirely. The app never needs a network connection to log, browse or compute stats. iCloud sync catches up whenever you are online.

Which techniques are included?

A library of more than 100 techniques with the common aliases (RNC, mata leão and rear naked choke all find the same entry), grouped by position, gi and no-gi. Anything missing you add once and it stays in your pickers.

Does it track competitions and injuries?

Yes. Competitions are logged as events with match-by-match results and method (W sub armbar, L points 2-6). Injuries are notes with a start date and a mark-healed action, and the active one shows on your Today screen.

Does it support kids belts?

Yes. The belt picker has both ladders: adult white through black, and kids grey, yellow, orange and green with their white and black variants.

Is there an Android version?

No. BJJ Journal is iPhone only, iOS 18 or later, with home and lock-screen widgets and a Siri and Shortcuts action to log a session.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Through Apple: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, BJJ Journal, Cancel. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing. The lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel.
